What Happens In Cabo Stays in Cabo...Unless You're a Blogger!

Confession--I totally used to watch Laguna Beach and liked it more than I'd like to admit. Can we please still be friends?

When my parents brought up the idea of a family vacation to Cabo San Lucas my high school self immediately referred back to the infamous Laguna Beach phrase What Happens in Cabo Stays in Cabo, and I was sold! Kyle and I had an amazing honeymoon in Europe a few years ago, so we were looking forward to a more tropical getaway.

And to Cabo we travelled!

My family lives in Wilmington, so Kyle and I drove down on a Friday after he finished work. We all piled into one vehicle and drove to Myrtle Beach where all 6 of us slept in 1 hotel room for about 6 hours before waking up at 4 a.m. to head to the airport! Probably wishful thinking on our part that we would actually get a decent night's sleep all crammed in there, but with a week of sand and sun ahead of us sleep was hardly a concern.

We flew from Myrtle Beach to Charlotte (45 min!) and then Charlotte to Cabo (4.5 hours!), and because of the 2 hour time difference, actually arrived to Cabo around 1pm Mexico time! The flights were all super easy, as was going through customs and getting to our resort. I swear, they are so accommodating in Cabo--perks of traveling to a tourist town!

We stayed at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort & Spa, and I could not say more good things about the resort! We had a great suite with an amazing view of the beach, were so close to 2 of their amazing pools (1 of which was the all adult pool!), and had access to 3 sister resorts.

My dream for Cabo was to stay at a resort with a swim-up bar, and I was not disappointed! Add in the fact that they had a Infinity Pool at the top of a mountain overlooking the ocean, the resort, and the valley below, and I was on cloud nine!

Our week there was a perfect mix of relaxation and touristy activities.

We spent lots of time at the pool (because the beaches there can be quite dangerous) and sipped our fair share of delicious drinks.

A zip lining excursion helped us get our fill of terror adventure (more on that in my next post!).

We saw our fair share of gorgeous views on a sunset cruise around the famous Arch, a glass-bottom boat tour to Lover's Beach, and eating a delicious meal at Sunset de Mona Lisa which had the most amazing view.

And, a little day trip to Todos Santos to visit the Hotel California (inspiration for the song by the Eagle's) and do a little shopping was also a nice way to break up the week.

I am so thankful for my week there. It was truly a dream vacation for me and was seriously one of the best trips of my life.  I would love to go back, preferably every summer ;)
